SARAH CLARK WINS GOLD AT EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Edinburgh Club's Sarah Clark has won the under 63kg title on the second day of the 2006 European Judo Championships, in Tampere, Finland, beating both the World Champion and reigning European Champion to take gold.
The 28-year-old Athens Olympian beat World Champion Lucie Decosse of France in the final to take the top spot on the medal rostrum.
The well-deserved title came in a particularly strong field with Clark also beating the reigning European Champion Elisabeth Willeboordse in the semi final
She has told us,"It feels great to be European Champion. All the hard work has paid off. However, I don't think it has sunk in yet"
